Me & Leicester
Why am I a Leicester City fan????

I am a Leicester City Fan because when I was about 8 or 9 dad owned a buisiness in Hinckley and a bloke he new quite well keep giving him free tickets that he won in competitions, my dad then decided to take me with him and Ever since then I have supported Leicester City Football Club

Leicester City's Recent History
I supported Leicester for years before but to be honest I was abit young before but When I first started taking real interest in Leicester City Martin O'Neill was at the Managerial Helm, His Managerial Career at Leicester was quite close to ending and He was doing a brilient job at Leicester Martin O'Neill was being linked with all these jobs at Leeds, Celtic etc, I was a worring time for both Fans and Players, We were doing quite well in the League and we classed the Worthington Cup as ours for years, It came to the end of the Season and the "rumours" about Martin O'Neill were becoming more and more frequent and it was getting more and more worring, I got home from watching the team train at belvior drive, turned the Television on, I put it on Sky Sports News, I saw 'BREAKING NEWS' in the corner of the screen and yes, It was Martin O'Neill, he had left to go to Celtic, I then found out a couple of years later that he said to some fans he was not leaving, the next day he did, and because of this I can never forgive him, Yes he did a brillient job but I just can't forgive him.

After Martin O'Neill we had Peter Taylor, I did not seem it at first but having Peter Taylor as our manager was one of the worst things we ever did. At the start Leicester City were doing brilient and we almost forgot about Martin O'Neill straight away, Peter Taylor spent money and this was one of the reasons he was the worst person we ever employed, at the time I thought nothing of it, Peter Taylor signed the following players, Gary Rowett-£3.2m, Callum Davidson-£1.7m, Trevor Benjamin-£1.5m, Simon Royce-free, Ade Akinbiyi-£5m (Record Signing for Leicester), Richard Cresswell-£750,000, Damien Delaney-£85,000, Matthew Jones-£3.2m, Kevin Ellison-£100,000, Junior Lewis-£150,000, Dean Sturridge-£350,000, Lee Marshall-£600,000, James Scowcroft-£3m, Dennis Wise- £2m, Ian Walker-£2.6m. Which all came to a grand total off:- £24.2 Million, Peter Taylor sold, Neil Lennon-£5m, Phil Gilchrist-£500,000, Stuart Campbell-£200,000, Lawrie Dudfield-£250,000, Richard Cresswell-£500,000, Stan Collymore-free, Ian Marshall-released, Tony Cottee-free, Steve Walsh-free. The money that we gained was only £7.15 Million. Some Problems with the players Tylor bought was that Akinbiyi went through a dry spell which lasted nearly a whole season, Matt Jones got injured and is only just coming back from the injury which has now lasted nearly 2 years, and Yes now what do I say about Dennis Wise? Well 1) He was never the player he was a Chelsea, 2) He didn't really bother 3) He broke Callum Davidson CheekBone, Leicester then sacked him which takes me to point 4) He has tried to sue Leicester several times and lost, and there are still current rumours saying he is trying to sue us. Peter Taylor got us to the top of the league, and then one year later he got us Relegated, Peter Taylor was not at the helm when we got relegated but really it was to late, Peter Taylor had already done the damage and not ever Dave Bassett, Who has saved so many clubs from Relegation, could stop us from going down, When Peter Taylor shown what he could do at Leicester (i.e Taking us top of the league) he was put in charge of England as Caretaker Manager, when Kevin Keegan steped down, and personally, I think Peter Taylor took the England job to seriously and didn't really care about the Leicester Job too much, but then Peter Taylor got sacked from Leicester after a 478 day reign and then the F.A found Sven Goran Ericksson to manage England.

So, Leicester lost Martin O'Neill to Cetic, they then bought in Peter Taylor to replace O'Neill, Leicester then sacked Taylor, and bought in Dave Bassett and Micky Adams as his right hand man described as "the young sexy one," Now other than employing O'Neill, employing Bassett and Adams was one of the best things we ever did, We employed Bassett and he trying as well as he could to keep us up, he failed but he still had a good try, Leicester got relegated by Manchester United so at least we were relegated by the champions, this was to be Dave Bassetts last game in charge, Bassett then handed the role down to Micky Adams, a young, manager similar to O'Neill, Adams First game was ironically a friendly against no other than Celtic, Martin O'Neill was back in Leicester along with Neil Lennon and Steve Guppy, all former Leicester City players and management, We lost 0-1 with Hartson scoring in the 9th minute, a week later Former Manager takes Micky Adams' former club Brighton to the Second Division Title, So Micky Adams lose this one, but He has never lost a competative Premiership match, so the last competetative macth at Filbert Street, Tottenham come to Leicester, this match was very emotional, Could it be Savages last match, and he doesn't even play because of suspension???? Yes, Because in that summer Savage makes a switch to Birmingham, Could it be Izzet's last match? No!! He stayed and is still here now! but will we go from Filbert Street in style? Yes! Leicester City 2 - Tottenham Hotspur 1, the last player to score at Filbert Street is Matthew Piper, and he is a surprise transfer in the summer, when he moves to Sunderland. Then on Monday,May 13th, 2002, Filbert Street is closed, Its the last night at Filbert Street, Its the LCFC Legends Game, and Leicester City V LCFC All-stars, At the end of this match everyone in the stadium links rams and signs Auld Lang Syne. This floodlights go out in Filbert Street an exactly at the same time The Walkers Stadium Floodlights are turned on. It all goes quiet and all you can hear us the snapping of seats coming from the kop. After the summer holidays finished, there is still one friendly to play, Leicester City V Athletico Bilbao, the first match ever to be played on the Walkers Stadium pitch, the game finishes 1-1 wiht Jordon Stewart scoring for Leicester, everyone is saying "Role on the League" the new season starts, "the start of a new era" new league, new stadium, We start of th season with a 1-0 win against Watford, Through-out this season Leicester have been at the head of public attention with Leicester going into Adminstration etc, but get throught the season going top a couple of times, but staying seconde vertually all season, Leicester never went lower than second, and Then It came to Leicester V Brighton, Leicester Could have got promotion the week before against Rotherham, but Rotherhame, managed to keep us to a 1-1 draw, so Leicester V Brighton, Leicester Fighting for promtion, Brighton Fighting for survival, Leicester win 2-0 with Izzet and Jordon Stewart scoring the vital goals.
So Back to the premiership we go!

Keep The Faith, Foxes NEVER Quit.
